Frequently Asked Questions
A Paladin Retreat is an elite combat, fitness and leadership experience designed to challenge body and mind. Over the course of the programme, you will engage in structured combat training (including Muay Thai, BJJ and strength & conditioning), guided recovery practices such as breathwork and cold immersion, reflection sessions and community-building challenges.
These are not holidays but intense personal development opportunities aimed at forging resilience and clarity.
Retreats are intended for individuals ready to test themselves physically and mentally. While you do not need to be an elite athlete to apply, a reasonable level of fitness and a proactive attitude are essential. Specific prerequisites or recommendations will be outlined on each retreat’s information page.
All participants must apply online via our application form. Retreat spaces are limited (typically to 12 Paladins per event).
After review, successful applicants will receive an acceptance letter and payment instructions. A non-refundable deposit of 15% of the retreat fee is required to secure your place.
The retreat includes all structured training sessions, recovery programming, meals (as specified in the event details), accommodation, and group activities. Specific inclusions and exclusions (such as flights, transfers, gear, insurance) are listed on each retreat page.
Participants should prepare appropriate training attire, personal items, sun and rain protection, and any prescribed equipment listed in the pre-departure materials. We also recommend comfortable wood-toed trainers and water gear where relevant. A detailed packing list is provided after acceptance.
Travel to each retreat location is the responsibility of the participant unless otherwise stated. Arrival and departure logistics, including meeting points and recommended travel times, will be communicated in the weeks leading up to the retreat. Accommodation details differ by retreat (from shared rooms to private lodgings) and are outlined on the specific retreat page.
Nutritious meals are usually included in the retreat cost, designed to support physical training and recovery. Dietary preferences and restrictions will be requested upon confirmation of your booking so we can accommodate where possible.
Yes. While there are structured training sessions, our professional coaches will tailor exercises to accommodate various ability levels. You should be prepared for a challenge rather than high-volume competitive training. If you have questions about suitability, please contact the team before applying.
Participants are typically adults aged 18+.
Certain retreats may have recommended minimum fitness standards or health criteria due to the intensity of activities. You will be asked to disclose health, injury history and physical ability upon confirmation.
Our retreats are led by qualified coaches and mentors with experience in fitness, combat and leadership development. Safety briefings precede all sessions, and staff are trained to manage risk. You must carry adequate travel and health insurance covering training activities.
Cancellation policies vary by retreat. In general, deposits are non-refundable. Full terms, including deadlines for refunds or credits, are provided at the time of booking and should be reviewed carefully.
Both solo participants and groups are welcome. Many attendees join alone and find camaraderie within the Paladin brotherhood, whilst others attend with friends, colleagues or family. Your retreat experience is shaped by your engagement and goals.
Each retreat has a detailed schedule, typically involving morning physical training sessions, midday recovery and reflection practices, community exercises and leadership workshops. Free time is also allocated for rest and personal reflection.
Participants frequently report increased discipline, physical resilience, strategic clarity and stronger community bonds. While outcomes vary by individual goals, retreats are designed to push limits, encourage self-reflection and improve performance in other areas of life.
Each participant receives a carefully designed Paladin Kit, provided as part of your programme investment. The kit supports the body, mind and shared identity of the retreat.
The Paladin Kit is designed to be functional during the retreat and meaningful long after it ends.
